FACILITATOR / PRESENTER

Brett Harvey

Tāima Kōrero (Time2talk) was started in 2019 & Brett is the Researcher and facilitator with his own story and research on the work Tāima Kōrero is undertaking. His career up until 2019 was in the construction industry specialising in Audio Visual & Automation systems – so he knows a bit about devices and IT systems. Brett’s passion for this need to educate parents meant that he sold his company of 12 years, and decided to move his time and effort into this field of helping parents and young people around the issue of pornography. When not working in the Trust Brett is a husband to Delwyn, father of two & can be found mountain biking around the hills of Canterbury.

 

MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS

Amelia Norman

Amelia brings a wealth of experience in online marketing and communications to the team. With a background in journalism and web content creation, Amelia works with a number of small businesses and larger organisations providing content for social media, newsletters and websites. she joined the Tāima Kōrero team in 2023. Amelia lives on a lifestyle block in North Canterbury with her young family. In her spare time, Amelia volunteers as chairperson of her school PTA and loves shopping, reading and going on adventures with her family.

 

BOARD CHAIR

John Robertson

John Robertson joined the team at Tāima Kōrero in 2020 as a Trustee and Board Chair. John brings a wealth of experience as an SME Entrepreneur, Organisational Leader, and as a Business Coach. He has also served over many years on a number of not-for-profit Boards. As a long-time business owner, Johns’ experience is multi-faceted and a key resource to the Trust. John lives with his wife Sharon of 30 years in a historic homestead on Banks Peninsula where they run a Boutique B&B and events centre. He is a parent and grandparent with 4 adult children and 2 grandchildren and is a passionate advocate for the work of Tāima Kōrero and building significant legacy into future generations.

 

TRUSTEE

Peter Simpson

Peter was a school principal for 31 years and was the NZPF National President in 2011 and on the National Executive for 14 years. He was on a Board of Trustees at his own schools as well as the new school in Rangiora 2018 -2021. He has experience in strategic planning, education as well as supporting children and their families from his teaching and principal experience. He has a wide knowledge of the schooling sector. He currently is a school leadership advisor. Peter has received a NZOM in 2022.

 
Delwyn Harvey

TRUSTEE

Delwyn Harvey

Delwyn Harvey has been providing social work services in Canterbury for 18 years, in the child protection arena. She now works in her own private practice and enjoys supporting, strengthening and advocating for her clients. Delwyn is passionate about her work and says she uses all her top five strengths when working with clients; Relator, Connectedness, Activator, Strategic and Command. Delwyn is a registered Social Worker, and a member of the Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers.

 

TRUSTEE

Stephen McQuarrie

Stephen has worked alongside young people for over 15 years as a youth-worker, secondary teacher and youth-work trust manager. He has a wide range of experience in working with not-for-profits and community groups on a management and governance level, and is motivated by giving young people the tools and opportunities to succeed in life.
